How Our Newborn Home Visit
Process Works

In order to make sure we are able to accommodate your newborn home visits, please contact us during the pregnancy to confirm our practice can meet your needs.

Step 1: Initial Home Visit & Newborn Assessment

Before your baby is born, we will discuss how home visits work and pre-enroll your baby in our system.

  • Bring hospital records to your first appointment so that we can review and make a plan for any additional screenings or needs your baby may have.

  • The first visit will usually be within 3 days of going home from the hospital. We will weigh your baby and complete a full newborn feeding and development assessment.

  • Prefer to visit us in person? We’d be happy to see your baby in the office if that’s more convenient for you.

Step 2: Ongoing Newborn Care & Support

Depending on your newborn’s growth and health, we will arrange for follow up visits that meet your needs.

  • Most newborns will have additional visits at 2 weeks and 1 month old.

  • Once your baby is 2 months old, we will have you come to the office so that we can start vaccinations.

  • No special preparation is needed on your part to have your baby’s check up at home! We will make sure you feel comfortable before the visit and are happy to answer any questions along
    the way.
